Sian Millen - Head trainer
About Sian
Sian is a highly experienced and dedicated dog trainer with over 14 years’ professional experience in dog training and behaviour. She has worked with all breeds and specialises in reactivity and rehabilitation, supporting dogs and owners through complex behavioural challenges with a calm, results-based approach.
Alongside her training work, Sian is a qualified Veterinary Nurse and holds a Postgraduate Qualification in Feline and Canine Behaviour, with a strong understanding of the clinical and medical factors that can influence behaviour. This background allows her to take a holistic view of each dog, ensuring training plans are both effective and welfare-focused.
Sian is a member of the National Association of Security Dog Users (NASDU), holding a Level 2 qualification in General Purpose Dog Handling and Level 3 in Passive Drugs Detection. Working alongside her drugs dog, Aurora, she has supported a range of operational environments including festivals, race events, and large public venues.
Sian is a specialist scent work trainer who brings techniques drawn from both pet and working dog programmes into her training. She integrates scent work principles across her wider practice to build confidence, sharpen focus, and provide the kind of mental engagement that makes a real difference to a dog's overall development.
Outside of client work, Sian continues to develop her own skills through ongoing training with her dogs, including recently beginning training in PSA (Protection Sports Association). Her commitment to continual learning ensures her methods remain current, ethical, and effective.
